I knew what the QUALITY of the HAT would be.....I had no idea that COWBOY BUBBA would fit the HAT....MAN...if i didn't know you were from Kenner/Metry....I would have guessed from DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEJAS. Looks GOOD!!! Bubba. Palmer, I'll be headed to Austin next Weds. How about eating some Ribs in Mason? I'm going to Boerne that afternoon and then Austin Thurs. AM Let me know if you're free..Janet can go too!. I told Joyce about sending BLEU to Lake Charles for training...she didn't seem too thrilled about him being gone 3-4 months, So I've arranged for a cot to be placed in the kennel with BLEU..trainer said it would be OK with him. Let me know about Weds.

As most of you know Tommy and I divorced about a year and a half ago after 33 years of marriage. Although that was a very difficult time in our lives we have remained very good friends and have continued to enjoy our children and grandchildren as a family. I am reaching out to our PLE family because Tom not only needs your friendship at this time but more importantly your prayers. Over the holiday season we found out that Tom has cancer in both of his kidneys. It appears now that Tom will have about a 70% chance of a complete recovery on his right kidney and we are not sure (or optimistic) at this time about the right kidney. We hope to know more next week. You guys were such an important part of our lives and many still are. . . .please remember Tom through calls, cards and prayers. We would both appreciate it. Tom may be reached at 473-8492 and his address is listed on the PLE web site. Thanks, Deb

To all PLE brothers: Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! You Okies from Muskogee get ready to get your asses kicked by the LSU Tigers. You don't have a China mans chance to beat the Tigers in the Sugar Bowl. We here in Louisiana do not set the point spread on the game. The point spread is laid down from Las Vagas. We here in Louisiana have been waiting for this National Championship for 47 years and I doubt that Oklahoma will prevail over the Tigers. Laird: Sorry about your eye operation I hope you are feeling better and our prayers are with you. Ricky O'Brien: You did a tremendous job on the pool tournament. It was a sucess and Danny and I will never forget it. I would also like to initiate my son into PLE if it is alright with the board of officers. I know he is only 6 years old, but I want him to carry on the strongest brotherhood known to man. Charlie: When are the pictures of the pool tournament going to be posted on the K of A, so I can print them out and frame them on our living room wall.In closing I would like to say it was one of the most memorable occasions that Danny and I have ever spent together.Thank you so much I will never forget it. Bell: if the Tigers win, you and I go to N.O. and pay for all the raw La oysters you and I and the LA alumni can eat. On the other hand, if (When) sooners win, they come to Texas and put on a calf fry feed for all.

Bill: the elroy station still stands, however, sadly, its been bought out by a bunch of austin yuppies and modernized...I think they even sell quiche! I moved out of there many years ago, as austin was spreading out too far. Ranch now in Mason, which is about 100 miles northwest of austin in the hill country...2000 people, 50,000cattle, sheep and goats I still have a little to do with the music business, but it too has changed for the worse..see "Murder on Music Row," by Ricky Skaggs.

Laird, glad to hear you are sill roping. I still tell stories about living on your ranch and riding old Mary to work. Is Goatropers still standing (gas station in Elroy)? I will be heading to Texas soon on a research and conference trip. Maybe we could get a few JDs like the old days. I still think the Mole could be a great music star. I am ready to produce his CD. Do you still have any contacts in music biz. I remember hanging with Willie Nelson's crew. Bill
